​​Interest in textiles developed after an interstate move in 2000.  Joining a group gave me a way to create community and develop skills through workshops and sharing.  At the time I started doing drawing lessons so that I could learn to develop my own textile designs.  This didn't really eventuate but led to exploration of number of art mediums and finally analogue collage. Collage developed with self-directed learning and moved into online workshops with international tutors.

Since a moved to Albury in 2017 I have consolidated my skills, exhibited, joined groups and established & facilitate new groups to share skills in collage and textiles.

One group I belong to, the Creative Practice Circle (CPC) is a mix of academia and practicing artists.  It has been pivotal to my interest in exploring eco art and ways to express my concern about the environment.  Some of the members are participating in the CPC in a long-term project, Not on My Watch. We have selected an issue that is close to our hearts and began exploring it in our chosen mediums and exhibiting.   In my case biodiversity and moths and the value of trees.  We are learning how to extend into digital formats to voice these concerns in an accessible format to all.

My art focus is on analogue collage using papers and textiles.   Where possible I endeavor to be sustainable and reuse materials readily available to me in secondhand stores or passed on by others.

Workshops in both the realm of textile and college have stood me in good stead in terms of skills and learning to look, see and explore.  Growth comes by way of being a participant or a facilitator.
